What do you mean about doing stuff most girls won't do?
Kasi I'm a very liberal-minded girl so I'm open to new and wild things. Basta interesting siya para sa akin, I'm willing to try it. Kahit weird pa yan, I'll usually give it a shot.
How "weird" can you actually go?
Hmm...siguro as weird as you can imagine. Ha ha ha!

When I'm not busy working on my website, www.sherylie.com, madalas nasa gimikan ako. I really love to go barhopping. When I'm there, madalas akong nagwawala sa ledge. Mahilig kasi akong sumayaw. When I'm dancing, that's when I'm really having fun. Hindi kasi ako umiinom ng alak. Bihira lang kaya dinadaan ko na lang sa sayaw.
You said you're based in Angeles. Ever tried the gimik scene in Manila?
Hindi pa actually, sa Pampanga lang. Mas maraming bars doon. Three times pa lang kasi akong nakapunta sa Manila, it's crowded and very polluted. Mas gusto ko sa amin, familiar na ako sa places. I'm sure maliligaw lang ako sa Manila. Ha ha ha!
And being an occasional drinker, we're guessing it doesn't take much for you to get drunk.
Hindi rin naman. When I'm in the mood to drink kasi ang favorite drink ko rum coke. Siguro mga nakakasampung drinks ako noon bago ako malasing so normal lang ang tolerance ko.

Ever tried your skills against Nonito?
(laughs) We shadow spar. Actually, we help each other train. I help him with his plyometrics and footwork, while he holds the paddles and bags for me.
No, really. Do you get really physical when during lover’s quarrel?
No. But you know, I totally think it’s the easier way, di ba? Kasi at least if we’re throwing punches and kicks at each other, the bruises will heal. I’d rather fight like that. But honestly, we just take time to be apart.
Do you think your passion for fighting carries over to the other things that you do?
Everything is very passionate, all that emotion is in everything we do—whether we’re running, or we’re training, lounging around, and wrestling or something.
Tell us more about that “something” you do with each other.
Well, it’s not training naman all the time for us. (laughs) We relax and get to do something else.

We were wrestling and I got him in a rear naked choke. He couldn’t escape. He can’t win against me in wrestling. (laughs)

How did you become a pastry chef?
It’s a long story! But anyway, right after I finished my marketing course, I did an internship in Zimbabwe where I got to work with the poorest of the poor. While there, I saw that even though they didn’t have all the luxuries, they seemed happy with their life. That’s when I realized that I wanted to do something that’s important to me. So when I went back in the States, I tried to figure it all out.
How did you know it was baking?
Ha ha! Because while I was trying to figure out what I was going to do next, I found myself constantly baking and cooking all day. My parents noticed and they suggested that I go to culinary school. It sounded like a good idea so I enrolled myself at the San Francisco Baking Institute.
What’s the tastiest stuff you can make?
You know, the thing I love doing most is bread. My favorite would be the classic French bread.
Aside from baking, can you also cook main dishes?
Yes! Especially if I want to impress a guy, I would probably cook for him.
What would you prepare to impress a man?
It depends on his nationality. If the guy has Filipino blood, I’d probably cook something home style like adobo, kangkong and rice.

Ako alam kong sexy ako. Sila hindi. Ha ha ha! Problem nila yun. My attitude is sexy. My confidence is sexy. Sa totoo lang, proportioned naman ang katawan ko. Hindi naman sa pagpi-feeling, pero may laban naman ako kahit papaano.
What did your sister, former 100 Sexiest queen and certified FHM icon Assunta de Rossi, say when you told her about this shoot?
Tawa lang siya nang tawa. I told her I’ll launch my singing career in FHM. Siyempre tuwang tuwa naman siya. Tinatanong niya kung ano ang concept ng pictorial, sabi ko sirena. Tapos hirit niya, “Anong itatakip sa boobs mo, shell ng sungka?” Pero may tiwala naman siya sa akin. Okay naman di ba?
Comparisons to your sister will be inevitable. How are you sexier than her?
Mas may attitude lang siguro ako nang kaunti. And humor! Di ba sexy yun?
